Microsoft describes Kinect as a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience”. Based around a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images. Quite awesome right?
But why should we stop there? Why should Kinect only be a cool way to play TV-games?
The answer is that we shouldn’t. Kinect hacking is all about expanding its possibilities. Soon we’ll be able to connect Kinect to normal computers and control our computer with a Minority Report-like interface.
There are no limits other than our imagination and hacking capabilities. Join us in our quest for a open and amazing Kinect future!
